Devolved Funding

The Rotorua Rural Community Board is allocated $125,000 of devolved funding each financial year to put towards capital projects and items across the Rotorua rural district.
This year the Rural Board made a presentation to Council to detail the new process they have implemented to provide a clear process for applications and accountability for the funds spent.

Next funding round opens 1st July 2025

2024/25 allocation

The final amount of funding has not been allocated at this stage, but the main contribution is to a footpath along South Rd in Mamaku to ensure a safe environment for students walking to school.

Additional work will be done at the Taylor Place reserve to add a fence for safety.

Several rural halls received funds for projects.

2023/24 allocation

Funds were contributed by both Reporoa and Rerewhakaaitu communities to help install CCTV cameras in their local villages.

Our local lake reserves had picnic tables and benches installed, and several bus shelters were re-purposed at locations across the district.

The board was able to add a swing to the Taylor Place reserve.

2022/23 Allocation

The main project was the completing of the Mamaku public toilet which was planned in the previous funding year.

The remainder of the funds was allocated across the Rural Community Halls that required updated capital items.
