Every three years elections are held for local Council elected members and Community Boards.
Rotorua Lakes Council has a Rural ward Councillor and a Rural Community Board with four members. If you are keen to serve the rural community, read more below.
Get enrolled to vote in the 2025 elections
Make sure you are enrolled to vote - you should have received a letter in the email.
If you own property in the Rotorua District, but don’t live here you can register to vote separately. Contact the local Rotorua Council electoral officer Rick Dunn: rick.dunn@rotorualc.nz

4th July candidate nominations open
1st August candidate nominations close
9th-22nd September voting papers posted
11th October voting closes
